Mary Ann Padgett, 78, held hands again with her beloved husband, John D. Padgett, in Heaven, on Friday, December 31, 2021. She was born in Unadilla, GA on July 16, 1943, to the late Charlie and Merle Scott. Mary retired from Bank of America as a bank teller and also worked for McGee Carpet and Briggs and Stratton in Perry. She was a longtime, devoted member of Elko Baptist Church and absolutely loved any and all time spent with her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Tamarah L. Etheridge (Glenn) and James D. Padgett (Jamie), both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Heather Yancey (Emmett) of Tifton and Nikki Laidlaw of Warner Robins and Austin Padgett (Florincia) of Clearwater, FL; and siblings, Marshall Scott (Louise) of Kathleen and Glenda Brock (Henry) of Dawsonville. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Eva Nell Moore and Francis Moroney.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:30 p.m., in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with Pastor Wayne Holcomb, Sr. officiating. Mary will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens following the service.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Mary Padgett to Elko Baptist Church c/o Wayne Holcomb, 184b Walden Way, Hawkinsville, GA 31036.
