May 28, 1931 — August 20, 2012

Mary Catherine Happel-Sampson, 81, passed away into Gods hands, Monday, August 20, 2012 loving her dear children, Thomas A. Happel (Tamara), Marianne McDaniels Radford (Glenn); her dear grandchildren, Alan Happel (Megan), Nick McDaniels (Karla); Ashli, Casi, Colbi McDaniels, Elizabeth, Richard, Brandon, and Dillon Radford, who she adored. Mary was also blessed with three stepchildren, Peter Sampson (Janet), Nancy Jackson (Jeff), Karen O'Brien (Mark); nine step grandchildren, Miles and Hannah Sampson, Alex, Katie, and Drew Jackson, Blythe, Blake, Lauren, and Connor O'Brien; great grandchild, Addison Happel; and beloved cousins, Jeanne King (Tom) and their son, Ryan King, Kathie Luiz (Larry), Charles Warnke (Linda) and Thomas Luiz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Albert Happel and Robert Sampson.

Mary was born on May 28, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York to the late John Henry Murray and Marie Louise Steigerwald Murray. For over thirty five years, she was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she sang in the Adult Choir for over twenty-five years, and also worked at the Christian Service Center for many years. Mary retired from Robins Air Force Base where she worked in civil service as an Administrative Assistant. A tireless community servant, she also dedicated over thirty years of volunteer service as a Pink Lady at Houston Medical Center. An extremely talented lady, she sang and danced on Broadway for ten years beginning at the age of twenty-one. She loved her God, her family, friends, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, along with her lifelong companion and pet, Toby. She enjoyed living life to the fullest every day.

A Prayer Service will be held, Thursday, August 23, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated or memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, 250 South Davis Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
