Mary Elizabeth Winters

Mary Elizabeth Winters, 87, entered into her eternal home on Sunday, May 29, 2011.

Mrs. Winters was born on January 24, 1924 in Telfair County, Georgia. She and her family moved to Warner Robins in 1948 and to Macon in the late 1990's. She was a member of Westside Church of Christ of Warner Robins. Through the years, Mary worked at the Naval Ordinance Plant, was one of the original switchboard operators in Warner Robins for Southern Bell and worked in various retail occupations during her lifetime. She always put her family first and was a proud and devoted homemaker. She enjoyed cross stitching and gardening. Her husband, Odie Winters; son, Theron Odie Winters; parents, William Thomas "Tom" Yawn and Sarah Elizabeth Powell Yawn; and four brothers, all preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever live in the hearts of her children, Patricia (Jim) Thompson, Byrdstown, Tennessee; Paulette Winters, Byron; grandchildren, Kimberly (Mark) Rust, Jason Odie (Jennifer)Winters, Jeremy Pearson (Mary) Winters; three great grandchildren and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, June 1, from 6: 30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
