Mary Ella Edmonson Moody
Granny, 99, entered into the arms of her savior on April 20, 2015.
Granny was born on November 2, 1915 in Taylor County, Georgia to the late Early and Lucy Edmonson. She was a faithful charter member of the River of Light Church of God. After meeting James Woodrow Moody in May of 1934, they were wed on July 28, 1934. Pop and Granny were married for 75 years before Pop's death in August of 2009. She retired from Robins Air Force Base after many years of dedicated service.
Granny's memory will be forever treasured by her loving daughters, Joan Sorrow (Rev. Robert) of Tifton, Barbara Griffiths (Henry) of Warner Robins, Mary Alice Dominy (James) of Bonaire, and son, James L. "Butch" Moody (Elaine) of Warner Robins; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Granny loved her children, her church, and her savior, more than earthly things and was a prayer warrior of great magnitude; only heaven will be able to reveal the huge impact she had on His kingdom. During her marriage, she and Pop enjoyed travel, camping, and fishing.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at River of Light Church of God with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
