Mary Sue King

October 4, 1930 — January 11, 2025

Sue King, a devoted wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at the age of 94. Born in Maysville, Georgia, she graduated from Maysville High School in 1950 and married the love of her life in 1951. The following year, she moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, where she built a life full of love, faith, and service.

Sue attended Crandall Business School and began her career in procurement at Robins Air Force Base. After eleven years, she left her position to focus on her family, dedicating herself as a homemaker and substitute teacher. In 1982, she returned to Robins Air Force Base, where she worked until her retirement in 1993. Following her government service, she found her calling working at Heart of Georgia Hospice—a role she described as her favorite—until retiring again in 2018.

Sue enjoyed ceramics, sewing, quilting, and cross-stitching. Her creativity was evident in her intricate freehand designs, and her family cherishes the handmade stockings she crafted for each of them.

Sue was a long-time member of Bonaire Baptist Church, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and creativity, leaving a legacy of love and warmth in the hearts of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank King; parents, William and Chester Parr Seay and siblings, Otis Seay, Lois Seay, JB Seay, Lucille Jacks, Joseph Seay, Fred Seay and Mozelle Lord.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved daughter, Janie Boyd; grandchildren, Judd Holland (Jessica) and Jesi Holland (Derek); great grandchildren, Alex Rogers, Ben Rogers, Jackson Holland, Kylie Cox, Kamryn Bonner, Kallyn Bonner, Karter Thompson and Kaden Bonner; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with Sue’s family will be Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with the funeral service celebrating her life following in the chapel. After the service, Sue will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
