Mary Louise "Lucy" (Mckellar) Bullard

June 28, 1956 — August 2, 2021

Mrs. Mary Louise “Lucy” (McKellar) Bullard was born on June 28, 1956, to the late K.C. and Eula Bell McKellar, of Oglethorpe, GA. As the only girl of three, Lucy matriculated through Macon County’s schools where she excelled in academics and basketball. Upon graduation from Macon County High School, she attended school at Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Georgia, with plans to become a teacher. While attending college, she met, and was united in marriage, to Robert L. Bullard, in November of 1976. To this union four children were born. While Mary settled into her new life as a devoted wife and mother, she did not run from what she felt was her true calling, which was taking care of others. Over many years, Mary became an invaluable source of help for countless families as she cared for their loved ones. Following 30 plus years of service as a caregiver, she retired to care for her late husband.

Mary grew up in the church from a young age and professed her faith in Jesus Christ early in life. As a Christian, she loved the Lord. Her faith was the bedrock of her life and if she wasn’t at work or with family, she was more than likely at church. As an active member of New Era Missionary Baptist Church in Kathleen, Georgia, Mary was a member of the usher board and helped coordinate several events for the church. Following a life of service, on August 2, 2021, Mary was called from labor to reward at her residence in Bonaire, GA.

She is survived by her loving children, Erica Porter (Latravis), Trina Majette (Lorenzo), Robert Bullard (Obreziah) and Angel Bullard; grandchildren, Jaylen, Kaphrus, Marshayla, Destiny, Za’mya, Jeremiah, Makayla, Robynn and A’Kai; great-grandson, Jayden; brothers, Raymond Dugger (Glennice) and Leonard McKellar (Patricia); sisters-in-law, Maude, Elizabeth, Margaret (Timmy) and Lavern; aunt, Leola Whitehead; uncle, Richard Lockett (Barbara); and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.

At the family’s request, all services will be private.
