Mary Louise Rogers, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 18, 2018.
Louise was born on December 17, 1927 in Taylor County, Georgia to the late Blanche T. and Emmie Ree Hancock. A devoted wife and mother, she loved her family, her Sandy Valley Baptist Church family (especially her pastor, Rev. Phil Bryant, and his wife, Kathy), the Daisy McLain Sunday School Class, and her many friends. For many years, Louise sewed patches on Royal Ambassador vests and care pads for Heart of Georgia Hospice. She enjoyed working in her yard, and baking and cooking for others. Louise had the gift of hospitality and all were welcome in her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Harold Rogers; and four brothers, Clifford Hancock, James Hancock, Elbert Hancock, and Lannie Paul Hancock.
Her loving memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Geraldine “Gerri” Sorrell (Ken) of Warner Robins; son, Charles Frank Rogers (Deanna) of Lizella; sister, Nettie Lee Wainwright of Reynolds; brother, Earl Hancock of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with the Rev. Phil Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. The family would also like to invite friends to view Mrs. Rogers at McCullough Funeral Home throughout Friday afternoon and evening the night before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Louise to Sandy Valley Baptist Church Special Projects Fund, 1124 S. Houston Lake Rd, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. Rogers’ arrangements.
