Mary Ludie Hale

December 28, 1920 — May 31, 2009

Mary Ludie Carpenter Hale, 88, found her way to her Heavenly Father surrounded by her loved ones on May 31, 2009, at Houston Medical Center. She was a ten year survivor of breast cancer.

Mrs. Hale, also affectionately known as "Granny", was born on December 28, 1920, in Taylor County, and has lived in Houston County since 1968. A devoted homemaker and the hub of her family, she raised her children to always look for the good in people. She enjoyed needle craft, sewing, croqueting and fishing. Her church home was Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jot Carpenter and Mamie McDaniel Carpenter; sister, Loree; brother, Wanza; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Adrian.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of sixty-five years, William Milton Hale, Sr., also known as "Gankie"; sons, Milton (Deb) Hale, Naussa Bay, Texas, and Wayne (Patti) Hale, Gray; daughters, Verleen (Moses Perdue) Charles, Yatesville, Ealeen (Tom) Glover, Warner Robins, and Betty (John) Richardson, Macon; grandchildren, Keith Charles, Kim Coxon, Tammy Glover, Jason Charles, Kevin Glover, Farrah Battle, Arrin Freeman-Burgand, Brandy Hale, Landon Stephens, Cheri Hale, Joshua Hale, Jessica Hale, Anitra Lawson, Kyle Richardson and Kristen Richardson; great-grandchildren, Kersten, Hannah, Matt, Levi, Nick, Courtney, Chase, Cody, Brayden, Brody, Waylon, Sierra, Julien, Karis, Christine, Russell, Maverick, Duke, Laila and Maggie; and great-great grandchild, Lily.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverend Sydney Odom officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Susan G. Komen For The Cure - Central Georgia, 248 Tom Hill Sr. Blvd. PMB 437, Macon GA 31210.
