Mary Jo Mines, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on August 12, 1935, in Taylor County, Georgia, Mary dedicated her life to her family and community.

She was known for her warm spirit and unwavering love for those around her. Mary cherished every moment spent with her family. A talented pianist, she shared her gift by serving as the pianist at Bible Baptist Temple for many years, where she also worked in the nursery and Sunday School, nurturing the faith of countless children.

In addition to her church commitments, Mary generously volunteered at WRCA, where her compassion and dedication made a lasting impact. Her passion for sewing provided her with another avenue to create and share joy with others.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and creativity that will be remembered by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Maude Harbuck; husband, Clint Mines; siblings, Virgil Harbuck, Dave Harbuck, Jr., Freddie Harbuck, Josephine Welch, Dorothy Hill, Merrill Ramick and Lessie Wyrick.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Charlotte Shepherd (Larry), Russell Mines (Heather); grandchildren, Candace Leong (Vicky), Zachary McGalliard (Tori), Joshua McGalliard (Harley), Lora Leigh Walker (Shawn), Dalton Mines, Heather Cart (Clint), Trey Shepherd (Melissa), Noah Hidi, Alexander Hidi, and Katherine Hidi; great-grandchildren, Isabelle Hitzing, Sadie McGalliard, Rhea McGalliard, Gatsby McGalliard, Vera Leong, Colton McGalliard, Talon McGalliard, Lily Shepherd, Olivia Shepherd, and Harper Shepherd; and siblings, Maude Wright, Juanita Tante, and Bonnie Harbuck.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Bible Baptist Temple, with a funeral service immediately following at 3:00 p.m. Afterward, Mary will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
