Mary Oease Williams, 87, departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 9, 2007.
Mrs. Williams was born on February 18, 1919 in Eatonton, Georgia. The epitome of a cherished Christian spirit, she was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for more than twenty five years. She was active in missions, was chairperson of the Benevolence committee for numerous years and was a member of the Senior Adult Choir and the XYZ Senior Adult Group. She never wavered in her desire to do for others and spent countless hours offering a helping hand in whatever project was needed. She will be remembered by her family as a loving, Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her legacy of kindness will continue in every life she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe B. Williams, her son, Billy J. Williams, and her parents, Edgar and Eugenia Jones.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Genie and Mack Howell; sister, Marie Williams; granddaughters, Rhonda Huggins (Dale), Stephanie Kutay (Mark), Terrie Robison (Brian), Debbie Booth (Larry), all of Warner Robins; sixteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice 103 Westridge Drive Warner Robins, GA 31088.
