Mary Ann Stethem, 77, passed away at her residence in Centerville on the morning of Monday, April 22, 2024.
Born on March 20, 1947, in Bessemer, Alabama, Mary was the daughter of the late Buddy McSweeney and Mary Frances Askew (Charles). She was a proud veteran of the United States Army and worked as a baker at S&S Cafeteria.
Mary enjoyed watching her four o’clocks and yellow roses blossom each year. She also loved her cat, “Smokey Boodoozer,” solving word puzzles, watching football and American Pickers, and listening to Motown music, especially Smokey Robinson. Above all, Mary cherished her family and time spent with them.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughters, Dee Casas (Brian) of Byron, and Melissa Edwards (Scott) of Centerville; grandchildren, Kameron and Keegan Casas, Sabrina Turner (Paul), and Travis and Zander Edwards; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Lilliana, Jaxon, Alissa, and Paul Turner, Jr., and Allison Casas; siblings, Mickie Campbell, Denise Galpin, Lynn Byrd, Kip Askew, Kim McFadden, Trina Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
