Warner Robins

Mary Teresa Harnage, 86, passed away July 25, 2024. Mary was born to the late Michael and Honora McDonnell of Killena, Ballycastle, Co. Mayo, Ireland. She graduated from Marist Convent School for Girls in Carrick-on-Shannon in Co. Leitrim, Ireland.

Mary met Owen Harnage and celebrated 41 years of marriage until his passing in 2000. They raised a family of four children, having moved to several duty stations while Owen was in the United States Air Force. They led an exemplary military life as husband and wife until Owen retired. They settled in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Mary held several positions in telephone operations, retiring from Robins AFB after 26 years' service.

Mary was a devout Roman Catholic. She was a decades-long active member of Our Lady of the Skies parish at Robins AFB, where she volunteered well into her 80s.

Mary enjoyed being a member of the Warner Robins Newcomers Club and cherished her friends playing Bunco and cooking for one another in the Lunch Bunch. She maintained relationships with all her friends and coworkers for decades.

Mary was blessed to meet a very special friend in Warner Robins, Bert Whitehead. Bert and Mary enjoyed many years of devoted companionship.

Mary’s passing is deeply grieved by her children: daughter Teresa Cochran; son Michael Harnage (Kim); son Ron Harnage (Jane); and son Rob Harnage (Cabrini). Mary adored her 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister Eileen Pigott; nieces and nephews in Ireland, The United Kingdom, and the United States; extended family; Bertis R. Whitehead and his family.
