Mary Virginia Bowen

Mary Virginia Bowen, 81, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 19, 2012.

Mrs. Bowen was born on July 3, 1930 in Brooklet, Georgia. She was a longtime faithful member of Second Baptist Church where she was a member of the XYZ Senior Group and attended Faith Keepers Sunday School class. She also formerly served as Chairperson of the Bereavement Committee at Second Baptist Church. Mary enjoyed sewing for her family and friends and was a very talented seamstress. She worked for a number of years at Tabor Junior High School. Mary will be fondly remembered by her family as a woman of faith, a wonderful homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her beloved husband of fifty-seven years, Thomas Harold Bowen, son, Craig Bowen; parents, Bobby Lee and Mary DeLoach; one sister, and five brothers, all preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her children, Pat Boutwell (Carl), Centerville; Pam Alford (Russ), Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jennifer Ransom (Kirk), Lindsey Boutwell, Allison Boutwell, Christopher Alford (Katy), Stephanie Alford; great granddaughter, Taylor Kate Ransom; special friend, Frank Childress; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, June 21, from 6: 00 p.m. until 8: 00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 2504 Moody Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
