Mary Jim Yarbrough, 92, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, December 16, 2024.
Born on May 5, 1932, in Standing Rock, Alabama, Mary Jim was raised in LaGrange, Georgia. A 1949 graduate of Rosemont High School, she married her beloved husband, John, on August 28, 1952. Mary Jim worked at the Citizens and Southern Bank in both LaGrange and Macon before turning her attention to raising a family.
Known for her warmth, hospitality, and generosity, Mary Jim was an exceptional cook who loved having friends and family gather around her table. She and her husband cultivated a beautiful garden, always canning the fruits of their labor, ensuring no one ever left their home hungry. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always took a deep interest in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren alike.
Her faith was her foundation, and she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warner Robins, where she was part of the Ladies Circle and often served as chairman, was part of the Presbyterian Women’s Group, and taught Sunday School.
She had a good sense of humor and a remarkable ability to see the best in people. Her kindness, caring nature, and strong faith touched the lives of many. Mary Jim was a friend to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
