MaryAnn Bridges of Warner Robins passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the age of 87.
Born in Shelby, North Carolina, on August 19, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Henry Hatcher McGinnis and Mozell Queen McGinnis. A faithful and devoted Christian lady, MaryAnn grew up attending Elizabeth Baptist Church in Shelby, North Carolina. Everything in her life was strongly rooted in her faith. Later in life, MaryAnn became a Methodist. When her children were born, she became a homemaker, raising her family and creating a home for them. MaryAnn joined the workforce in the production department at The Daily Sun in Warner Robins. She was known for being an excellent cook. Her passion was spending time in her garden where she grew plants and flowers. More than anything in this world though, MaryAnn was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Edwin McGinnis, Gladys Hall and Sarah Owens.
Those left to cherish MaryAnn’s memory include her husband of 67 years, David Stanley Bridges; children, Karen Fugate (Robert) of Ocoee, Florida, Phil Bridges (Pat) of Warner Robins, Debbie Lewis (Richard) of Perry, and Sheri Collins (Michael) of Warner Robins; brother, Donald McGinnis (Glenda) of Lincolnton, North Carolina; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
