Florence Minick Law or as she was known to many, “Flo,” went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, January 19, 2024. She lived to be 93 and up until the last month of her life, was lively, conversational, and engaged with friends and family where she lived in the assisted living section of Summer’s Landing in Warner Robins. Many of the staff at Summer’s Landing became family too, many calling her, “Momma” and caring for her and her husband, Charles as they would their own family. To them, the Minick/Law family is very grateful.
Florence was born Mattie Florence Sapp in Preston, Webster County, Georgia on July 31,1930. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Pearl Sapp; father, Henry Sapp; older sister, Alice Ruth Sapp Cooper Jones; first husband, William Jackson (Hot) Minick, whom she married on August 24, 1947; great-grandson, Everett Conor Minick; and second husband; Charles E. Law, whom she married on January 24, 1998 (d. Aug 10, 2023).
Florence is survived by son, William Ronald “Ronny” Minick (Diane S. Minick); daughter, Gwendolyn Ann Minick Kutzman (Jim Kutzman); stepdaughter, Jill Law Walker (Paschal Neal Walker, Jr.); grandchildren, Kenneth Justin Minick, Keith Russell Minick (Kimberly Graham Minick), Stefen Kutzman (Heather Northcutt Kutzman), Neal Craig Walker (Angie Migliore Walker); great grandchildren, Roxanne Miller, Aiden Minick, Charlotte Minick, Kipton Minick, and Finn Minick; as well as much loved nieces and nephews.
Florence began her married life with Hot Minick in Preston, Georgia where they were sharecroppers on a local farm in Parrot, GA. Two years after their first child, Ronny, was born they moved to Warner Robins to pursue a better life. Florence was a wonderful homemaker, but also worked at Robins Air Force Base for many years. She and first husband, “Hot” enjoyed supporting the Warner Robins High School Demon’s football team, holding season tickets for many years even after her children went to college and started their own careers. She and her family were active members of Second Baptist Church of Warner Robins. Florence met Charles in Sunday School Class. They dated for several years and then were married in 1998. They enjoyed traveling, fishing and just having fun with friends and family.
