Mattie Jean Bell, 62, entered into rest September 9, 2008.
Mrs. Bell was born in Starkville, Mississippi, on April 5, 1946. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1964, went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from Jackson State College in Jackson, Mississippi, then a Masters in Education at Indiana University. She began her career in education in 1984 as a school counselor for the State of Ohio Department of Education. She retired in 2006 after thirty years of dedicated service in education. She moved to Warner Robins in March 2007 and pursued her favorite hobbies of gardening and reading. Her parents, Percy Bell and Willie Mae Sharp Bell, and twin sister, Mary L. Krausz, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her sisters, Beatrice Peace, Buffalo, New York, Laurice Cameron, Rome, New York, and Sarah Louis Bell, Perry; brothers, James Bell, Buffalo, New York, and Nathaniel Bell, Sr., Warner Robins; and many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be Friday, September 12, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at McCullough Funeral Home Chapel with inurnment following at Magnolia Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The American Stroke Association, Memorial Program, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas TX 75231.
