Mattie Pearl Brown

Mattie Pearl Oates Brown, 82, joined her beloved husband, Willie Brown, Jr. in Heaven, on the evening of Sunday, October 25, 2020. She was born in Roberta, Georgia on October 20, 1938, the daughter of the late Walter B. and Lillie Mae Oates. At an early age, she joined Macedonia CME Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Brenda.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, six sons; Larry Oates, Willie Brown, Jr. (Deloris), Russell Lee Brown (Annie), Alfred Brown (Teresa) all of Warner Robins, GA, Phillip Brown of Macon, GA, and Samuel Brown (Adrienne) of Tyrone, GA; one daughter, Bessie Wilburn (Victor) of Fayetteville, GA; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Dodson and Bertha Barnes of Fort Valley, GA; one brother, Johnny Oates (Vera) of Fort Valley, GA; two sisters-in-law, Sammie Mae Jefferson and Alice Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and extended family.

Mrs. Brown will lie in state on Friday, October 30, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Homer Wright officiating. Mattie will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
