After a brief illness, Warner Robins resident Maureen E. Worsley, age 92, passed away on Monday morning, November 22, 2021.
Born on August 28, 1929, Maureen was the daughter of the late Norise H. Dolley and Mary Alice Irving Dolley. She grew up in Portland, Maine, and attended Deering High School until the ninth grade. Married at age 17 to the late Richard E. Worsley, Maureen was a very proud homemaker. She then moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she raised her family. The couple also lived in Iowa and New York where she pursued several outside-the-home jobs. She and her husband then moved to Florida where she worked at Sandpiper Cove in Destin, Florida, as a managing housekeeper from 1972 to 1986. In 1986, the couple moved to Lake Sinclair in Georgia. To be closer to her family, she moved to Warner Robins in 2019. Decorating was Maureen’s favorite pastime and Christmas was her favorite holiday. She was talented at flower arranging and never met a stranger. Her children could not have asked for a better mother and her grandchildren and great grandchild were the apple of her eye. She dearly loved her family and would do anything for them.
In addition to her parents and late husband, Maureen was preceded in death by her daughter, Ellen E. Cable; sister, Catherine Dolley Douglass; and brothers, Herbert Dolley, who died in action during World World II, and Norise Dolley.
Left to cherish the memory of Maureen are her son, Norman E. Worsley II (Bette) of Warner Robins; brother, Eugene Dolley of Scarborough, Maine; 17 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
At the family’s request, all services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in Maureen’s memory to the Salvation Army, 305 Green St., Warner Robins, GA 31093.
