Max Darl Phillips

Max Darl Phillips, 83, entered into rest on Sunday, September 4, 2011.

Mr. Phillips was born on May 21, 1928 in Muncy, Pennsylvania. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army. In the early 1950's he moved to Southern California and was a self-employed Property Tax Consultant. He had a passion for baseball and loved coaching his children. He played in the Senior Softball League in Tustin Ca. In 2002 he moved to Kathleen, Ga to be with family. He was preceded in death by his siblings Geraldine, Delos, Alice, Dorothy and grandchildren, Sarah Phillips; great-grandchild, Elijah Hamborg; and parents, Thomas Edward, Ora May (Fulmer)Phillips.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Nina May Gierke (Wayne), Arcadia, Ohio, Gary Phillips (Laurie), Orange, California, Max Phillips (JoDee), Fallbrook, California, and June Hamborg (Chuck), Kathleen, Georgia; grandchildren, Christopher Gierke, Norma Gierke, Jennifer Phillips, Matthew Phillips, Emily Phillips, Tim Phillips, Nathan Phillips, Aubree Key, Andy Key, Wesley Hamborg (Amanda), Madisyn Hamborg, Kaylie Hamborg, Grace Hamborg, Joy Hamborg, Joshua Hamborg; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Allie.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Christ Chapel, 2288 Moody Road, Warner Robins GA 31088. A reception will be held after the service. In memory of their father Gary, Max, June and Chuck will travel to Pennsylvania to visit his home town, and the farm he grew up on.
