Melanie Conner, 61, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. She was born on September 21, 1958, in Hawkinsville, Georgia, and was the daughter of Elnita Conner and the late Alton Ray Conner.
Melanie graduated with Warner Robins High School’s Class of 1976 and retired after 37 years in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. She was a proud member of The Chix of ’76 and served as Secretary of the Central Georgia Mustang Club. Melanie’s family and friends will cherish countless memories of the sweet and fun times they shared together.
She is survived by her loving mother, Elnita Conner of Warner Robins; brother, Marc Conner (Heather) of Social Circle, Georgia; sister, Melissa Spear of Warner Robins; nieces and nephews, Damon Spear, Tara Snyder (Holland), Ashley Buck (Justin), Stephen Conner, and Karigan Conner; and six great-nieces-and-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Michelle Conner White; and her father, Alton Ray Conner.
Regarding services for Melanie: while restrictions have loosened some, measures must still be taken for the well-being and safety of the community, the families being served, and the funeral home staff. McCullough Funeral Home feels a strong responsibility to play our part in keeping everyone safe during these unprecedented times. Melanie’s family will receive friends on Saturday, July 18, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. After the service, Melanie will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
During this time and for the safety of everyone in attendance, social distance measures will be enforced. Guests will be guided to remain 6 feet apart, masks are strongly encouraged, and hand-shaking and touching is discouraged.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Melanie to The Chix of ’76 Scholarship, Inc., c/o Marsha Hall, 211 Wexford Circle, Bonaire, GA 31005.
