Melba Tous

Melba Dean Tous, 74, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015.

Melba was born on May 6, 1941 in Brunswick, Georgia, the only daughter of the late Luther and Marie Pittman Wilkes. From the time she was little, Melba had a keen sense of caregiving and compassion for others. She grew to use her altruistic personality to help others as a Nurse Aide for several years of her life. In her free time, she loved wood crafts and enjoyed coaching softball for years. Melba's beloved husband, Kenneth John Altherr, Sr. preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Pamela Altherr of Warner Robins and Tracy Altherr (Debbie) of Centerville; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the McCullough Funeral Home Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service.
