Merle E. Thomas

Merle E. Thomas, 72, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2005 in his home. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, October 30, 2005 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, October 29, 2005 from 6 until 8 PM at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Central GA Dist. Bibb Unit Macon, Georgia 31208.

Mr. Thomas was born in Marion, Ohio on July 4, 1933. He worked for Quaker Oats for many years and also served his country in the United States Army. His parents, Cisero and Nelly Thomas, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Donna Ruth Thomas, Macon; sons, Roger Thomas (Saundra), Macon; Merle Eugene Thomas, Jr.(Janice), Richmond, Virginia; daughters, Cheryl Spell (Johnny), Cochran; Debbie Manning (David), Pace, Florida; Vickie Neff, (Johnny), Smith, Alabama; Melinda Wilson (Wendell), Fort Valley; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Mahome, Andalusia, Alabama; Phyllis Temple, Marion, Ohio; Shirley VanBuskirk, Marion, Ohio; Dorothy Douglas, West Virginia; Marjorie Wise, Brockton, Massachusetts.
