Michael “Big Mike” Ande, 74, entered into rest on Saturday, August 18, 2018.
Big Mike was born on October 10, 1943 in West Palm Beach, Florida to the late Cletus and Barbara Hufnagle Ande. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Navy and dedicated thirty-three years of employment to Robins Air Force Base. Big Mike was a 1977 graduate of Georgia College and he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons. He was a kind and loving man and enjoyed the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Judith Ande; children, Stephanie Tarver (Tim Gill) of Jacksonville, Florida, Alexis McKinnon (Bryan) of Port Orchard, Washington, Michael Ande, Jr. of Centerville and Renaldy Smith of New York City, New York; grandchildren, Delaney, Rosalyn and Lachlan; brother, Bill Ande of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Bobbie Hanbury of West Palm Beach, Florida; sister in law, Kimberly Underwood of Warner Robins and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018 at All Saints Episcopal Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Michael Ande, Sr. to Heart of Georgia Hospice at 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
