Michael Mark Popkin

August 1, 1937 — October 4, 2003

Major Michael Popkin, 66, died Saturday, October 4 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 8 at the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday evening at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, Joy in the Journey, 1647 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, GA 31093

Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Jacob and Sarah Popkin, he had been a resident of Warner Robins for 30 years. Major Popkin was retired from the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He also retired from civil service at Robins AFB as a computer programmer. He obtained a Masters Degree in Computer Sciences from Georgia College and his Bachelors in Math from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. His brothers, Eugene Popkin and sister, Irene Porter, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Nancy Popkin, Warner Robins; children, Stacy Summers (Chad), Hawkinsville, Kristy Lamb (Scott), Warner Robins, Richy Popkin (Lynda), Kathleen; brother, Paul Popkin, Tamarak, FL; grandchildren, Matt Summers, Sarah Summers, Lauren Lamb, Avery Lamb, Rylee Lamb, Jordan Popkin, Richie Popkin.
