Mildred Otten, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.
Mildred was born on March 8, 1921 in Indian Territory of Galena, Kansas to the late Clyde Charlton and Lena Chandler Barton. Family was her highest priority, while her children were young she was a loving and devoted homemaker. Mildred was a well known seamstress who sewed beautiful dresses in the 1950's. She was also a Girl Scout leader for ten years. When her children were grown, she began her career as an administrative assistant for Eaton Corporation where she retired after many years. Mildred was a member of The Assembly of Warner Robins.
Her husband, Vernon Otten, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughters, Chrys Watson (Maynard) of Fort Valley; Melody Charlton of Hill Rose, Colorado; son, Vernon Clarke Otten, II; granddaughter, Dixie Wells (Keith); and great-grandchildren, Jordan and Sydney Wells.
At the family's request all services will be private. Mildred will be laid to rest in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday.
