Miles Jonathan Edes, age 44, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021.
A 1995 graduate of Perry High School, Jojo was the son of William Edes and Glendia Swinson Edes. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and joined the United States Navy where he served with a Marine Unit as a Medic. He served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and was awarded two Purple Hearts during his service to the military. An avid hunter and fisherman, Jojo found that being outdoors grounded him. He was also known as a jack-of-all-trades. If no one else could fix it, Jojo could. Any ailments, Jojo could sew it, glue it, or give you a tourniquet, if needed! His spunk and realism was like no other and without a doubt, he loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his parents, William and Glendia; brother, Jeff Edes; sisters, Jhene Casteel (Cliff) and Jessica Edes; nephew, Layke Brantley; and nieces, Hannah Grace Casteel, Faith Casteel, and Julie Edes; as well as his faithful lab, Annie Bear, who was his confidante and partner.
At the family’s request, all services for Jojo will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the PTSD Foundation of America, 9724 Derrington Road, Houston, TX 77064 or at PTSDUSA.ORG.
