Michael Grimes, 66, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017.
Michael was born on May 31, 1951 in Douglas, Georgia to the late John and Ozelee Bates Grimes. At a young age, he along with his family moved to Warner Robins, where he graduated from Northside High School in 1970. With great pride and honor, Michael served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his active duty service, he began his 36-year career at Robins Air Force Base as a Master Tool Crib attendant. Michael loved serving the Lord at Faith Baptist Church in Bonaire. He was a loving and adoring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Kohen Micah Hetherington, and sister, Barbara Williams.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 30 years, Pat Winstanley Grimes of Warner Robins; children, Michael Grimes (Lisa) of Phoenix, Arizona, Jonathan Grimes (Quynh) of Meridian, Idaho, Daniel Grimes of Meridian, Idaho, Jennifer Hetherington (Mac) of Boise, Idaho, Jason Grimes of Wedowee, Alabama, Matthew Grimes (Jaye) of Warner Robins; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and sister, Patsy Upshaw (Jack) of Warner Robins.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Michael will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with military honors.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Michael Grimes to Faith Baptist Church, 106 Hwy 96, Bonaire, GA 31005.
