Moses "Mozell" Wright

Fort Valley

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Moses “Mozell” Wright passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 67 years old.

Born on March 4, 1957, in Fort Valley, Moses was the son of the late Nettie Ruth Dodson Garner and R.L. Vinson. He attended Peach County High School and later graduated from Northside High School. After completing his education, he proudly enlisted in the Army National Guard, where he served for eight years in the 48th Brigade. Upon his honorable discharge, Moses made his residence permanent in Warner Robins. After 35 years of loyal service, Moses retired from Blue Bird.

His commitment to helping others extended beyond his career; Moses served for three years as the former Vice President of the Blinded Veterans Association (BVA), where he advocated for veterans and supported his fellow service members. He was also a talented multi-instrument musician and played throughout his life.

He is survived by his amazing wife of 24 years, Barbara Ann Wright; two children, Mozell Wright Jr., and Yasmeene Marion (Antonio); stepdaughter, Marcia Sutton; and Godson, Valentino Solomon. Moses was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Zamaria Wright, Brenton Jackson, Tyson Sutton, Angel Marion, Drake Marion, King Solomon, and Ace Solomon; and is also survived by his siblings, Obie Wright (Geraldine), Joshua Garner Jr., Janie Anderson (Quentin), Annie McFadden (Jerry), Steven Garner (Katrina), Ernest Smith (Gwendalyn) Carl Wright (Barbara), Roger Wright (Chiquita), Richard Wright (Sondra), Fanita Wright, Cathy Driskell, Robin Mobley, Jennifer Vinson, Barbara Vinson, and Ronald Vinson; and aunt, Christine Friday; as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of caring family and friends who will miss him deeply.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Moses “Mozell” Wright will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Moses “Mozell” Wright to Blinded Veterans Association, P.O. Box 90770, Washington, D.C. 20090.
