Bobby Crumpton, 84, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2019 after a sudden diagnosis and unexpectedly brief battle with lung cancer. Born in Lenox, Georgia, Bobby joined the United States Air Force retiring after twenty-three years of dedicated service. He was able to travel all over the country during his military career. Following his retirement, Bobby worked as a manager at Peacock Plantation in Norman Park for twenty-six years so he could be closer to his family. He later accepted retirement in 2004 when he and Sharon moved to Reynolds and became part of the community. Bobby was an avid sportsman, enjoying skeet trap, hunting quail and other shooting activities. He and his wife enjoyed visiting relatives, playing cards, competitive bowling and serving as an example of a loving couple to anyone they met.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Sharon Ann Brown Crumpton; sister, Mary Carolyn Waites; aunt Dorothy Ross of Norman Park and several nieces, nephews, cousins and his church family at Reynolds United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be Friday, September 6, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds United Methodist Church located at 12 E Marion Street in Reynolds, Georgia. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with burial being held at later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Bobby R. Crumpton to Reynolds United Methodist Church at 12 W Marion Street, Reynolds, Georgia 31076 or the American Lung Association at 2452 Spring Road, Smyrna, Georgia 30080-386.
