MSgt. Booker T. Bowman, Jr., passed away on December 25, 2014. Born in Yazoo City, MS, MSgt. Bowman received his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Jackson State University in Jackson, MS and then his MBA from Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, AL. Currently employed with General Dynamics, he was also a retired veteran of the United States Air Force, having served faithfully as a Spectrum Manager throughout Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. For his 23 years of distinguished service he was awarded, among other things, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, and an Air Force Commendation Medal. MSgt. Bowman was a member of the Sergeant's Association and attended New Hope International Church. He found his greatest joy being at home with family, watching movies, and simply enjoying time together with loved ones.
MSgt. Bowman is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Jacqueline Lyles Bowman; daughter, Jasmine Nicole Bowman, Fayetteville, AR; son, Jordan Jamal Bowman, Warner Robins; parents, Booker T. Sr. and Flora Neal-Bowman, Yazoo City, MS; sister, Stephanie Bowman-Land, Jackson, MS; brother, Cedric Bowman, Vicksburg, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, December 29, at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 30, at New Hope International Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Georgia Veterans Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.
