Calvin Logan, 92, entered into rest on Sunday, June 18, 2017.
Born in Lucedale, Mississippi on July 17, 1924, Calvin was the son of the late Lucian and Mary Pope Logan. He proudly joined the United States Navy in August of 1942 where he served during World War II until 1948. In 1950, Calvin re-enlisted into the United States Air Force from where he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1966. Subsequent to his military retirement, he worked as a shop supervisor for The Tumpane Company of Macon and then for ADICO in Saudi Arabia for three years. Calvin was also employed as a grounds supervisor at the Macon Housing Authority for several years. He enjoyed golf and was a member of Waterford Golf Club.
In addition to his parents, Calvin was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 and ½ years, Bobbie J. Logan; and his sons, David Logan, Joseph Logan, and Richard Logan.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving daughters, Janet Strickland (Tommy) of Duluth and Melissa Zeuner (Mark) of Warner Robins; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Gladys Ranft of Irving, Texas.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 22nd at 12:00 noon in Andersonville National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Calvin E. Logan to your favorite charity.
