Dennis Knebel, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
Dennis was born on May 24, 1935 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to the late Charles and Gerda Knebel. With great pride and honor, he served in the United States Air Force for 23 years retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Dennis then worked for the FAA at Macon Airport as an air traffic controller. He earned his Associates Degree in accounting from Macon College. Later, Dennis opened a small tax business that he operated for several years. He loved golf, sailing, photography, woodworking, and model rockets. However, his greatest joy came from time spent with his beloved family.
His son, Richard Knebel, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 61 years, Arlene Frances Knebel; children, David Knebel (Alyson) of Bedford, Texas; Kelli Leary (Kenny) of Kathleen; Kathleen Boyd of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Chad Boyd; Jaclyn Boyd; Lora Freeman; Daniel Knebel; Zachery Leary; Sierra Leary; Elyse Knebel; and great-granddaughter, Emily Freeman.
Visitation will be Friday, April 21, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church. A funeral mass will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church. After the service, Dennis will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum with full military honors.
