Msgt. Gary V. Tryggestad, Usaf (Ret.)

MSgt. Gary V. Tryggestad, USAF (Ret.), 67, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2003 in his home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 172, Radio Loop, Warner Robins, GA 31088.

MSgt. Tryggestad was born in Viroqua, Wisconsin, to the late Vernon and Helen Tryggestad. He started his military career with service in the Army National Guard and retired from the United States Air Force in 1977 after serving two tours of duty in Korea and also one in Vietnam. He then worked in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as an Electronics Superintendent until his retirement. MSgt. Tryggestad was an active member and four-time commander of American Legion Post 172. He was also a member of the 40 and 8 Society and the VFW.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Susie Tryggestad, Warner Robins; sisters, Luan Frederickson (Ronald), Wisc.; Sharon Steines (Tom), Minn.; and Linda Ashley (Chuck), Nev.; and sisters-in-law, Mary Tryggestad, widow of Lynn, and Rachel Tryggestad, widow of Bryce.
