Glenn McGee, 79, entered into rest on Saturday, October 6, 2012.
Mr. McGee was born on March 3, 1933 in Gainesville, Georgia. He retired from the United States Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant having served in the Korean conflict. He then, after working for several years, retired from the Perry Hospital. As a longtime member of Central Baptist Church, he served as deacon and was very active in the Singles ministry, most recently with the New Beginnings Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Perry Exchange Club having held offices that included, among others, former Vice President. Formerly he was very active in the Perry Chamber of Commerce at one time holding the office of President and also received the award Man of the Year. Mr. McGee volunteered his time with the Base Pharmacy and was the President of the Georgia National Faircrackers, a volunteer organization. He is pre-deceased by his first wife of nineteen years, Jane McGee; parents, Reverend Howard and Irene McGee; sister, Elsie McGee and son in law, Mike Chickini.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of twenty-six years, Pat McGee, children, Chip Zeder, Smyrna, Janie Nichols (Marlan), Kathleen, William Zeder, Jacksonville, Florida, Patrick Stokes (Lisa), Warner Robins, Pam Chickini, Warner Robins, Laura Cole (Denny) Starkville, Mississippi; sister, Peggy Turk, Oakwood, Georgia; brother, Mickey McGee, Lula, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandon Nichols, Leslie Nichols, Alex Nichols, Kelly Fierro, Lacey Hinson, Taylor Stokes, Hayley Stokes, Emily Cole, Drew Cole, Cody Zeder, Lee Zeder, Shelby Zeder and Savannah Zeder; great grandchildren, Hudson Nichols, Abby Jane Nichols and Mary Kathryn Fierro and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 9, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Central Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Baptist Church Building Fund and Up and Onward.
