Msgt. Harold "Hal" Clark, Usaf (Ret.)

August 13, 1935 — July 27, 2021

MSgt. Harold “Hal” Clark, USAF (Ret.) passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at The Oaks Nursing Home in Marshallville after an extended illness. He was 85 years old.

Mr. Clark was born in Alamo, Georgia, the son of the late Henry R. and Winnie Clark. He was a graduate of Dekalb County High School. After high school, he joined the military where he spent 23 years in the United States Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War. Once he retired from the Air Force, Mr. Clark worked in civil service on Robins Air Force Base as a machinist. Known for his happy demeanor, Mr. Clark always seemed to have a smile on his face, especially when he was outside. A member of the Warner Robins Koi Association, Mr. Clark raised Koi fish and created his own ponds. He hand fed his fish and trained them to swim through obstacles. An avid gardener, he was also a dog lover who once even planted cucumbers for his German Shepherd. He had a special affinity for butterflies and the entire metamorphosis process.

With a passion for photography, Mr. Clark’s favorite subjects were his plants, anything in nature, and especially his grandchildren. A member of the International Practical Shooting Confederation, he was a frequent participant in their tournaments. He enjoyed target practice and taught his grandchildren the importance of shooting safely. Not content to let anything go to waste, Mr. Clark also reloaded his own ammo. He would give the shirt off of his back to help a friend or neighbor in need. He was a devoted father and grandfather who adored his wife, Nette.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Clark was also preceded in death by his siblings, Henri-Leigh Camp, Milton Clark, Jerry Clark, Avel Braddy, and Chester Clark.

Those who are left to cherish Mr. Clark’s memory are his wife of 59 years, Sarah Wynette Clark; children, Mark R. Clark (Denice) of Flowery Branch and Kim M. Bailey (David) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Joseph Greathouse (Kaylee), Jason Greathouse (Meghan), Grace Rene de Cotret (Allan), and Hope Clark (Jeff Hulse); and great grandchildren, Johnathan, Alexander, Sydney, Maxine, Evelyn, and Iris.
