MSgt. Howard A. Nolan, USAF (Ret.), 81, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2005 at Houston Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25, at the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a Tsunami relief fund of your choice.
MSgt. Nolan was born August 23, 1923 in Springfield, Massachusetts, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Nolan. He proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1983. He was a member of American Legion Post 172 and VFW Post 6605. MSgt. Nolan was a Chapter 9 Disabled American Veteran and a Shriner. He was of the Catholic faith. Preceding him in death was his wife, Elizabeth B. Nolan.
Survivors include, son, CMS Howard M. Nolan (Ret.) (Ronnie), Byron; son, Timothy P. Nolan (Laura), Springfield, MA; daughter, Mary Skrabely, Springfield, MA; sister, Geraldine Roe, Dallas, PA; grandchildren, Heather Johnson, Byron, Christopher Nolan, Warner Robins, Ryan Nolan, Perry, Donna Tetreault, Springfield, MA, Emma Nolan, Springfield, MA; and five great-grandchildren.
