MSgt. Jackie D. Carter, USAF (Ret.) entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, September 10, 2023. He was 86 years old.
The son of the late Andrew Jackson and Nora Copeland Carter, Jackie was born in Rockwood, Tennessee, on January 24, 1937. Jackie dedicated his life to serving his country, having retired from the United States Air Force with the distinguished rank of Master Sergeant. After his military career, Jackie continued his service at Robins Air Force Base, where he contributed his expertise as an Avionics Repair Technician for several years until his second and final retirement.
Jackie was a faithful member of Bonaire Church. He always enjoyed square dancing, could fix just about anything, and was a Master Mason.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 26 years, Iva Jewell Carter of Bonaire; children, Donna Della of North Carolina; Bradford Webb Carter (Naomi) of Buford; stepchildren, Anthony Martinez (Debra) of Sarasota, Florida; and Paula Rankin of Michigan; as well as several beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, September 15, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. MSgt. Jackie D. Carter, USAF (Ret.) will be laid to rest at a later date in Andersonville National Cemetery.
