Msgt James Franklin Humphries, Sr., Us Army (Ret)

James Franklin Humphries, Sr., 86, entered into rest on Saturday, December 17, 2011.

Mr. Humphries was born on March 24, 1925 in St. Petersburg, Florida. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army, retiring as Master Sergeant. His church home was Lake Ellen Baptist Church in Crawfordville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Claudia Lenora Baker Humphries; son, Ronald "Ronnie" S. Humphries; and parents, Rufus Samuel "Sam" Humphries and Minnie Lee Durden Humphries Keel.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving sons, James F. Humphries, Jr. (Pennie), and David A. Humphries (Sallie); eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, December 19, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Pastor Keith Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Southern Care Hospice, 3312 Northside Drive, Bldg D, Suite 150, Macon GA 31210.
