James Mark Rogers passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at the age of 54.
Jim was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 24, 1965. In 1985, he proudly joined the United States Air Force where he served as a Crew Chief; he retired in 2005 having attained the rank of Master Sergeant. Upon his military retirement, he worked in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as a Program Manager.
Jim was a devout member of Macon Wimbish Road Seventh-day Adventist Church where he served as an deacon. In his free time, he enjoyed coaching wrestling at Houston County High School and The Westfield School and flying model RC airplanes and drones. Jim also loved cooking and was great at barbecuing, especially brisket. Though hard-headed and set in his ways, he was also laid-back with a great heart. Jim is now with his Lord and Savior but will forever be missed by his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his loving son, Blake Rogers; parents, John F. Rogers, Sr. and Janet Bell Rogers; siblings, John Rogers, Jr. (Tammy), Jerry Rogers (Melany), and Jennifer Rogers Williams (Bobby); several nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Toni Alfson (Kevin) and former girlfriend, Jerrie Gwynn, both of which he remained great friends with.
A memorial service celebrating Jim's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at Macon Wimbish Road Seventh-day Adventist Church.
