MSgt. John A. Mellin, USAF (Ret.), 73, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2004. A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, January 5, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Chaplain Joe Graham officiating. Interment will be private.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Happy Hour School and Workshop, 200 Maple Street, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
MSgt. Mellin was born in Phillipsburg, PA, to the late Albert and Edna Mellin. Retired from the United States Air Force, he served during the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict and was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. He also retired from civil service with the Det. Eight Support Group at Robins Air Force Base. An avid golfer and bowler, he was a former member of both the Pine Oaks Golf Club and The Landings Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Luanne Mellin, Warner Robins; daughter, Deborah A. Mellin, Meadville, PA; and sister, Betty Wigley, Youngstown, OH.
McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
