Msgt. John F. Holland, Usaf (Ret.)

John Holland, 90, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.

John was born on December 3, 1926 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, to the late John F. and Dorothea C. Holland. With great pride and honor, he served in the United States Navy and later the United States Air Force, where he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his active duty service, John was a letter carrier for the United States Post Office for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Al Sihah Shrine Temple in Macon. John enjoyed listening to music and working in his yard. However, his greatest joy came from his beloved family and family events. His dog "Dutchess" also held a special place in his heart.

Along with his parents, his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara Holland, and son, Charles "Chuck" Holland, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his; daughter, Donna Licata of Hilo, Hawaii; sons, Richard Holland (Melissa) of Atlanta, David Holland (Michael) of Cornelia, and Clifford Holland (Becky) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jeracah, Salena, Ember, Kristin, and Taylor; numerous great grandchildren; and brother, Robert Holland of Chatanooga, Tennessee.

Visitation with John's family will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Magnolia Park Cemetery where John will be laid to rest.
