Lewis Eugene "Fuzzy" Hawkins, formerly of Warner Robins, Georgia, 78, entered into rest on Thursday, August 30, 2012.
Mr. Hawkins was born on March 3, 1934 in Newberry, South Carolina. He was of the Lutheran faith. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force retiring after obtaining the rank of Master Sergeant. During his military career, he received many awards and much recognition, including two Distinguished Flying Cross Awards, Vietnam Service Medal, and many others. Subsequent to his military career, he retired from the City of Molina Police Department where he was Chief of Police. He also worked for the Bank of Molina as a Security Officer. His beloved wife, Mary Kathleen Hawkins; stepson, Billy D. Coleman, Jr., and parents, Irvy Elijah Hawkins, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his stepson, Willard J. Coleman, Port St. Lucie, Florida; siblings, Margaret Cromer, Janice Crowell, Reverend Irvy Hawkins; five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, September 3, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside Services with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
