Richard Howard Beltz, 68, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 27, 2012.
Richard was born on May 8, 1943 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He was a member of Church of Christ in Warner Robins. With pride, honor, courage, and commitment, MSgt Beltz served in the United States Air Force for over twenty years. Throughout his military career he received many distinguished awards including, the Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon with four Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Humanitarian Service Medal, among many others. Subsequent to his military retirement, Richard also retired from Trane where for twelve years he worked with perfect attendance in Supply. In addition, he worked for the Houston County Board of Education as a School Bus Driver. His parents, Howard Welcome Beltz and Dorothy Helen Trautman Beltz, and his sister, Claudia Beltz, all preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of forty five years, Alice Marie Beltz, Warner Robins; children, Dorothy Beltz, Bonaire; Tracy Richard Beltz, Warner Robins; Lisa McIntosh (Martie), Jacksonville, Florida; Christina Beltz, Bonaire; sister, Sandra Houser (Michael), Albany, Oregon; and grandchildren, James Tracy Beltz, Katie Michele Carver, Emily K. McIntosh, Caitlin B. McIntosh, Brianna Higginbotham, Daniel Patrick Lovett, and so many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday evening, March 31, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Minister Gene Stilwell officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
