Robert M. Carroll, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 27, 2006. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Entombment with full military honors will follow in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
Mr. Carroll was born on November 5, 1933 in Durham, North Carolina. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Centerville. With loyalty and honor, MSgt. Carroll served in the United States Air Force where he flew cargo planes as a flight engineer. MSgt. Carroll served during the Vietnam Era and the Korean Conflict. He also retired from Robins Air Force Base where he worked in civil service as a flight mechanic. His parents, Melvin C. and Lois I. Carroll, and his brother, Gene Carroll, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Wanetia L. Stover Carroll, Warner Robins; children, Curtis Carroll (Debbie), Centerville; Ronald Carroll (Peggy), Jonesboro; Alan Carroll (Susan), OH; eight grandchildren, and one sister, Geraldine Roberson, Hendersonville, NC.
