Ronald Eugene Barnes, a dedicated and honorable servant to his country, passed away on March 1, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on July 6, 1937, in Milton, Florida, Ronald’s life was marked by his commitment to service, hard work, and devotion to those he loved.
Ronald proudly served in the United States Air Force for many years, achieving the rank of Senior Master Sergeant before retiring from military service. As a supply specialist, he played a vital role in ensuring the readiness and efficiency of the Air Force, contributing significantly to the success of his unit and the missions he supported. His service was not only a career but a true calling, one that reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Wallace Barnes; daughter, Sheila Marie Barnes; and brothers, Jack Barnes and Dewey Barnes.
His memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Francis Copeland Barnes; son, Ronald Barnes, Jr. (Faith); and eight grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor Ronald’s life and service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, he will be laid to rest in Andersonville National Cemetery.
