Msgt. Rubin Melvin Jones, Jr. Usaf (Ret.)

On the afternoon of Monday, December 25, 2017, Rubin Jones, went to be with his Lord and Savior.

Rubin was born on January 20, 1933 in Russellville, Arkansas to the late Rubin, Sr. and Bessie Stevens Jones. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years before retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Following active duty, Rubin worked in civil service at Robins Air Force Base as an Aircraft Electrician. His military structure was shown in the way he kept his family “in line”; he seemed hard on the outside but had a tender heart. Rubin was a very charitable man that faithfully served the Lord at The Assembly at Warner Robins. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his beloved family.

His brother, C. Veo Jones, and son-in-law, Randy Midkiff, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 65 years, Julia Jones of Warner Robins; daughters, Sherry Ogg (Reggie) of Winterville, Brenda Kay Midkiff of Perry; grandchildren, Rachel Ogg, Amanda Cooke, Ronald D Midkiff (Elizabeth), Carrie Sargent (William); great-grandchildren, Raegan Midkiff, Jackson Midkiff, Conner Sargent, Logan Sargent, and siblings, David Jones, Linda Price, and Jane Maxwell.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at The Assembly at Warner Robins. Following the service, Rubin will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
