Stanley T. Gill, 69, passed into the hands of his Lord on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.
Stanley was born on May 18, 1945 in Bainbridge, Georgia to the late Kenyon and Mattie Stephens Gill. Growing up in Bonaire, he graduated from Warner Robins High School and joined the United States Marine Corps. Stanley courageously served his country during the Vietnam War earning the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V and Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V, was awarded two Purple Hearts retiring from the Marines in 1991. He also retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base after 30 dedicated years ensuring aviation readiness. Stanley called Second Baptist his church home. In addition to his parents, two brothers also preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving son, Ashley Gill of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nephews and niece, Ken, James, and Donna; sister-in-law, Margie Nell Gill and all of their families.
Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Magnolia Park Cemetery with Reverend Mike Slade officiating.
