Msgt Vernon Leroy Engen, Usaf (Ret)

Vernon Leroy Engen, 79, entered into rest on Sunday, May 30, 2010.

Mr. Engen was born on November 24, 1930 in Holt, Minnesota. MSgt Engen was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam era. He also retired from Robins Air Force Base where he was employed in civil service as an aircraft mechanic. A timeless community servant, MSgt Engen was a member of the Sergeant's Association, Robins Ramblers Square Dance Club, and the Centerville and Warner Robins Senior Citizens Club. He was of the Lutheran faith. His first wife, Gladys Engen; parents, Harry and Josie Engen and sisters, Delores Smith and Harriet Engen, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Myrtle "Connie" Engen, Warner Robins; children, Pamela (David) Krawitz, Warner Robins; Kenneth (Cherri) Engen, Bonaire; Sandra (John Allen) Driver, Bonaire; step-son, Ken (Sherrie) Yeomans, Macon; grandchildren, Desirea Burtt, Brenten Henson, Amanda Krawitz, Jordan Engen, Derrick Roberts, Cassi Roberts; step-grandchildren, Lindsey Collins, Amy Huff, Blake Driver; great-grandchildren, Austin Burtt, Natalie Burtt, London Krawitz; step-great-grandchild, Harlee Huff; two sisters, Janice Critchley, Roseau, MN; Rebecca Olson, Newfolden, MN; brother, Harley Engen, Seattle, WA.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, June 2 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. D.C.O.
