Muriel Elizabeth Thompson

Perry – Muriel Thompson, 63, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2004 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with interment following. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 15, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.

Born on July 6, 1940, Mrs. Thompson was the first recognized Lady Firefighter in the state of Georgia and served as a volunteer firefighter in Centerville. In 1988, she retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base after 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel C. and Doris Robinson.

Survivors include husband, Charles Martin Thompson, Perry; daughters, Faye Beazley, Warner Robins; Robin Sryock, Perry; son, Sam Ingram, Tucson, AZ; brother, Lewis Robinson, Mayfield Heights, OH; stepsons, Mark Thompson, Waco, TX; Bruce Thompson, Perry; Paul Thompson, Austin, TX; and four grandchildren.
